I used Proform Bumper and trim Paint on a project. The Mat Black dried paint has a slight grainy texture to it. Is it customary to clear coat over the bumper paint? I have some Spray Max 2K rapid clear that i can spray on. TIA.
If you clear-coat it, it won't be a mat finish anymore.

Always clear coat painted surfaces, paint lasts longer and maintaining is much easier. Clear coat comes in mat, satin, gloss, etc.

.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest the qualifier, "SOMETIMES", .Kent.....because it's been my experience that the clear coat is what usually fades, flakes and/or peels as the years go by ~ even when the base paint is often still okay. Of course, the phenomenon is exacerbated if the vehicle isn't garaged or waxed every now and then. . [Image: confused0024.gif]
