I see what you're saying, but is it really worth it for something with around 200hp?
What kind of power gains can one expect from porting the in and out?
I figured, but the brake fluid part would help along with the torch.
About how long would it take to install new pistons and rings in an 88tc with the engine out of the car? What kind of pistons do you guys prefer? Gapless rings? Thanks
Ever high performance car I have ever seen has used serpentine belts. There are lots of serpentine upgrade (emphasis on upgrade) kits availible. Serpentine belts do not reduce hp as much as v belts ...
Free paperweights? Where? http://ubb.turboford.org/smile.gif
Another trick is to put brake fluid around the rubber seal on the windshield. The brake fluid deteriorates the rubber fairly quicky and it should pop right out if you get suction cups and pull on it ...
I've been home for christmas break working on my blue mist. I tell ya, my lincoln locker doesn't work too hot on ice. I haven't any weight over the axle either so 400lbs of sand were installed. Sti...
Make your own muffler. Take a section of straight pipe and write "D.O.T. approved" and write emissions jargon on it too. Put 2 exhuast clamps on both sides of the writing and bingo, you have the gre...
Marbles compared to sledge hammers, wow, that would be quite interesting. I suppose that it could be the valvetrain but sounds a little too drastic for that.
Get a locker in the rear end. Or do what I did and weld it yourself.
Put a new clutch in and take it back to the dyno, your last run might have been a direct result of the bad clutch, you could be hiding a few extra ponies in there.
I don't think it's a plug if it does it once warmed up, I'm thinking the O2 sensor should be the first thing to check.
What kind of whine is it, where's it coming from? Does it do this when you decelerate quickly? It's a little too general to correctly answer. Could be anything from alternator bearings to diff gears.
Go for the cam or the tuner. It's a close call though, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices.
I'm not sure about clutch prices, check out www.jegs.com, (http://www.jegs.com,) or www.summitracing.com (http://www.summitracing.com) for prices. Changing the clutch isn't too difficult, but g...
The main difference is going to be in cost. If you want 350hp, you're going to have to spend a lot more money anyway though. The extra 5-10% might be less or more depending on your setup.
Sounds like an electrical short somewhere. Check your wires, and clean the connections everywhere. I'm guessing the electrical problem may be closer to the computer if it's causing multiple problems...
I agree, get a new engine. Unless you have a lot invested in the carb-engine, buy a new one. There's a lot of things you have to do for fuel injection, and unless you buy a kit for it, you might hav...
I was looking through my vw (dunebuggy) magazine the other day when I noticed that one of the companies sells what looked to be like brand new turbos. They didn't say new or used, but I would presume...
