I have a GT40K kit car on a VW pan with a 2.3 carb motor. Purchased a 2.3 turbo motor from a Murker...
what options are out there for stand alone ignition and injector control?

WELCOME to TurboFord, Dave! At the top of the TF homepage is, among other things, an icon labeled "New Posts". Soooo.......I'm curious why/how you would've ended up tagging onto (responding to) a 7+ year-old post that has absolutely nothing to do with your kit car??  <shrug>

When you say, "standalone", can I ASSume that you don't wanna use an OEM Ford ECM and would rather install an $$ "aftermarket" version with greater control over the various parameters? If so, there are numerous options available from $500-ish to the moon. You'll also need an EFI fuel pump, a "return-style" fuel tank & lines, and a complete engine wire harness.......if you didn't get the one from the Merkur.

Among the ECM forerunners in the Lima world, is the "PiMP" (an acronym ~ can't recall the meaning) from TF advertiser, Stinger Performance (see ad in column on R/H side of homepage) = LINK.  The original versions (15-ish years ago) started out at around $500-600, but the prices have gradually increased with time, AND as new features were added. Used first-gen units often come up for sale, if you only need basic engine control ~ AND, there are other brands/versions, including Microsquirt & Megasquirt, that are even cheaper. <thumbup>
