all ranger manual trannies 89+ are the M5.
different motors use different bell patterns though, and the bell is integral.
Will any of these bellhousings take a T5 and if so which ones and how do you tell???
:worshippy: :worshippy: :worshippy:
It's integral as mentioned above. The bellhousing doesnt come off, it's part of the case
Are ALL the Ranger V6 bellhousings integral with the tranny???
None of them separate???
If that is the case is there any other way to get a bellhousing that will bolt a T5 to a Vulcan block???
I found this but cant make sense of it, maybe you can for starters...

AFAIK, the only RWD trans (with a removable bell) that ever came behind the 3.0 Vulcan engine, was the T-K 5-spd that was available in the 86 & 87 Aeroslugs. And, I can virtually guarantee that it won't mount a T5, or anything else for that matter.
If you're wanting to install a RWD 5-spd behind a Vulcan or SHO motor, I think you're either gonna have to settle for an M50D or a T-K,
OR make an adapter plate between an existing T-5/whatever 5-spd bell and your motor. :dunno:

Well........they came
STOCK behind the Vulcan. As far as failures go, I've only seen two types - and,
NEVER outright breakage, even behind the stronger 4.0L engines.
The vast majority of failures were due to lack of oil, which occurred when it all leaked out of the stupid-ass rubber shift-rail plugs at the rear of the shift/top cover (the plugs shrank). And there are still probably 10's of 1000's out there right now that are leaking and poised for failure - I've replaced two of these trannies in the past year. And, they're generally burnt up so bad they can't simply be o/hauled.
The only other failure, that I can remember, occurred during the first few years of production - they would come in behind a two truck stuck in 4th. This was caused by one of the 3 little steel "synchro dogs" coming out of it's groove (under the sliding synchro collar) and getting cocked in a position that blocked the collar from sliding back out of 4th. Pity the fool that simply put the dog back in place and sent the customer down the road! An improved-design 3-4 synchro assy was released that solved the problem. :dunno:
