I am sure it will work.I know of guys who use the 5.0 clutch quadrant/cable kit on svo's and tc's with no problems.

thats the funny thing. i tried to put a mustang cable on my 86 xr7 and it is about an inch short and is has a threaded end where-as the stock one has a "ball". but i am making a custom bracket, so as long as the pedal has enough throw. but it certainly isn't bolt-on.

The 5.0 uses a cable that is different from the later 2.3's. The 2.3's with the "dogbone" style linkage use the type with the ball on the end that slips into a clevise that is linked to a 2" cable that actually works the clutch arm. Some (maybe all?)of the svo's and early tc's have an earlier 4-speed style bell that uses the same cable as the 5.0 with the cable connected directly to the arm. I have used a later cable on the older bellhousing with a bushing I fabbed up, but have never done it the other way.

Here is an adapter I made to run a 5.0 adj quadrant & cable on my Turbo Notch...
I made it from part of a throttle linkage from a 400 Cummings...

When my new clutch goes in it will be with an SROD bell the way it should be...
