Esslinger heads..

As far as I know, nobody has ever really ported one...LOL

They do what you might refer to as "assembly line" cleanup behind the valves, to blend the casting to the machined seats...and it flows 238 at 28"...out of the box. Maybe that's all it's gonna get, but it would be the first head ever that couldn't be improved.

I don't care what some of the wanna-bee head-hackers on here say, you ain't gonna get near this head with an iron casting, the port has been moved out to where there's only H2O in an iron head.
thank you for the clarification, its awsome to have guys like you in the community that are willing to spend the time to help out with this kind of info

A BIG THANKS GOES OUT TO GARRY AND KEVIN FOR THE OK! ALTHOUGH ESSLINGER SHOULD HAVE POSTED THE NUMBERS TO LET PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THEY WERE GETTING FROM THE BEGINNING!,J.D.
SORRY GREG, I COULDNT DO IT. Wink

FIRST OFF, THIS HEAD IS EXTREEEEMLEY RESPONSIVE TO VALVE ANGLES,BACKCUTS, MARGIN WIDTHS, RADIUS AND DESIGN. WE WORKED YESTERDAY AND TODAY TO FINISH THE #2 PORT ON THIS HEAD SO WE COULD POST THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. FLOWING 21 DIFFERANT INTAKE VALVES AND 13 EXH.
BUT AFTER ALL THE BULLSHIT!!, FROM THE LAST POSTS IVE DECIDED NOT TOO. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT WANT THE NUMBERS FOR THIS HEAD. YOU CAN EMAIL ME AT: LARAMEE96@AOL.COM (NO PM,s) WE WILL NOT BE SHARING ANY OTHER FROM HERE ON OUT.
ID SAY THE NEW NUMBERS ARE EXCELLANT BUT ONLY AFTER RECONTOURING THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER WAS REDONE. WE HAVE NOT TOPPED OUT, THIS HEAD YET. AND IT COULD GO MUCH HIGHER IF SOMEONE WAS INTERESTED IN RACE PORTING THIS NEW HEAD.,J.D.

Im curious as to what accessories the head holds? :headscratch:

when I did my motor the alternator/power steering bracket bolted on the block, the small aluminum piece that the alternator bolts to on top went in the head I think but Im sure it would be easy to fab something else up to hold it in place, the a/c bracket on the other side of the motor also went in the block itself....maybe I am just being silly but I dont see really how the d-port is any more of a bolt on other than maybe being able to use a stock cam if you wanted to? and the stock intake/exhaust manifolds?? for someone who was really going after some kind of hellacious power I would think maybe one of the other choices might be better as you'll be using some sort of custom intake anyhow and likely some sort of custom turbo header

someone correct me if I dont know what Im talking about
89 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am 60k miles
65 Fastback 2+2
04 vette, cam headers blah blah fast
95 lightning beater
02 powerstroke 340k original
