Back on topic, new IAC today..... No change in engine speed being locked at 2k-2500rpm.

For giggles I looked at the TPS voltage, I know I did this right after I cleaned the TB, and the IAC a couple weeks ago, and it was at .96. Sure enough it was at 3.59. Tired moving the TPS before I went to reset it, and sure enough it moved a little. Broke the screws loose and they were not as tight as I was expecting. Time to find new screws, and or flt washers with lock washers.

At least I have a brand new SMP IAC on the car, and at least one used one that is more than likely good sitting on the shelf. I may put the new one back on the shelf after I resolve the TPS bolts loosening up on me.

See how long they stay tight this time... unless I get to it this weekend first.

Anyone know off hand what size the TPS to throttle body bolts are? I'll measure em tonight, but if I can find before I leave work I can pick some up on the way home from work.

May have finally solved the idle speed issues. Continued to have the issue sporadically after cleaning everything, resetting idle speed, replacing the IAC, and using new bolts with lock washers. Was going to replace the NEW tps with one of my used ones. As I went to look at the voltage on the new one, one more time after the latest idle speed issue, and one of the wires pulled out of the TPS housing. I was so pissed I just ripped it off right there and threw it in the trash. Not worth fumbling around over the warranty on it.

The NEW TPS was a Walker branded piece, sourced from Amazon, cuz cheaper than the SAME brand at Napa.

Used unknown mileage TPS is doing fine, so far, knock on wood, uh huh huh he said wood, uh huh huh....

I'm taking vacation starting on July 1, I hope to chew thru a few projects on the XR.
