i got a call into our local mustang club , they have a yearly mods vs rods race here at tulsa .push rods vs modular engines. last year they let us run with them . so im hoping i can get them to let our group run our event , the advantage to run thier pre existing event is , its later in the year oct 19 this year , the air will be good and crisp , highs of 73 and lows in the 50s . our track is one of the best hooking tracks ive been to. mike edwards and some of the top fuel cars test here regularly . just an early though for the next years race. as soon as i hear back from the moderator for thier site , www.oklahomadeadhorse.com there are a few svos and turbo coupes on the forum . and i can have 2 to 3 cars of my own there and ive turbo swapped about 6 others . so i can say 6 to 9 cars will be here of my flock. plus all the colorado and tx guys will be likely to show up as its closer , plus 3 kansas cars i know of . any thoughts ??

I like the idea, UNTIL, i noticed that it was a race the same day as the diesel drags. Our cars and diesels don't go good together. Too much crap on the track left by those trucks.. Just my opinion. Have ran other tracks with those same type of vehicles. Doesn't work well.,JL

Last 2 years in a row there have been cars in the 8s down the track right after the trucks with no issues.i just thought the later in the year the air would be better and our track is one of the best.

This is a long way out but check out this website. start entering cities in that we are from and watch the center move around. I would only think previous attendees or sponsors get an entry.
a.placebetween.us is the web address. a cartographer friend suggested this as they have map conventions where they all pick a spot to meet up.

I tried a few but it wasn't all of us that attended. The center looks like bowling green unless you add the people that sponsored too. Then tulsa looks pretty good.

Alot has to do with tieing onto an exsiting event. Because i dont see us having enough cars to make it worth renting a track. And again if we stay east of the missisippi the tx. Colorado and nevada guys will never come . Just a few of us are dedicated enough to drive any further a few than a few hours.I gota hand it to chriss odess tx is a loonnngggg haul. Way longer than my grueling tow. Thanks chris and all who participated and helped . Im just now starting to feel some what normal. One thing for sure .....im not gona do the last minute thrash next year ill work to have my junk done befor. Ill plan my peak to be closer to race day. Im gona go check out that site steve , thanks . It sounds like a cool site.

As you would expect, I like the idea and the diesels trucks don't bother me too much. Only about 7 hrs or so from me to make some 7 second passes!

yes our track is 1/4 mile . and there is plenty of run off , u wont need ur parachute . we also have rv hook ups with 110 power . we dont have showers yet. but this is just a one day event . that site is kinda cool . at least if the next race is sloser to the middle of the country new ppl may be be able to participate. thank goodness this is just once a year . im not sure i could swing a long drive more than once a year .

Brian, what happened to the 8"s? Must be you've got some big plans to just leapfrog them altogether!
