85 XR4 for sale, in storage for 16 years
#1

I am selling one of my XR's, which I've had since the 90's. I bought the car from the original owner and drove it as my weekend car for many years. I pulled it off the road 16 years ago, planning to restore it, but something always got in the way of me finishing it.

  It has 90K on it. The original engine block is still in the car, but it somehow got water in it after sitting all these years. I pulled the head many years ago, it was ruined from water as well. I have the T-9 from it and it is in good condition and worked well when I pulled it. The car is a California rust free (except for the engine) non-op status, clean title. An acquaintance of mine offered to buy it from me earlier this year, but I didn't have the time to pull it out of the garage; he bought a Ranger instead. He should have bought the XR.

  If you're interested in a clean rust free chassis, send me a PM. Not trying to make a fortune off it, $800-ish open to offer?

While the car was in storage;
-New windshield
-New strut mounts
-coil overs, 200 lb. springs
-re-built power steering rack
-rebuilt 89' XR power booster

Yeah Ray, I'm still in the same area. You and I met once BTW, you might not recall though. I have an offer and a deposit, but he hasn't come to get it, so it's technically still for sale.

I'll say this honestly, if I lost my other XR for some reason, I'd buy this one, even if I had to drive to Canton! The car has been in a garage most of it's life and you rarely see cars from 1985 for sale "anywhere" in this condition and for $700, there's no such thing.

I wouldn't be selling it if we didn't have a baby.
