Any Ecoboost F150's owners here- looking at a 2013 this weekend
#1

I am looking at a 2013 this weekend - supercab, 4x4, ecoboost, at, 8' bed. I have talked to a few people that have one and they love it.

Any advice or comments or whatever about them? Any tricks on getting the best deal?

Thanks,
Pete

I've ridden in one with an intake and tune, and it moves out! Think he did a 13.6 in the 1/4. Other than that, can't help a whole lot.

There is a few around here everyone seems very happy with them .I did a exhaust system on one and eliminated the muffler it had a good sound and he claimed it picked up some mileage and power .
She said I want you to make me feel special so I bought her a helmet and some crayons..

Be very carefull with a tune or add on parts with them or turning up the boost unless u don't like your warranty cause they have a over boost flag that is tripped in the computer but not shown on the the cluster. Ford has made it damn near impossible to tune anything they sell. So be carefull with what u put on it

We've had a bunch come in that have a misfire under accel. They are getting deflector plates and replacement intercoolers that are months backordered.

....that being said, The funniest ride so far was in a base model with a ladder rack that would fly. lol

Well I bought it, pics will be posted after I pick it up Tuesday night.

I got the max payload/hd towing package, with 7, yes 7 lug wheels, lol. I can put 2400lbs in the bed and tow 11,100lbs [even though in CT you need a cdl to tow 10,000+lbs]

Like I said to my wife... I just need to make about $20 a day extra to pay for it..... for the next 5 years, lol.

One thing I am really pissed about is that there is a Ford Ranger customer loyalty $1000 rebate.... I have a 94 ranger that me and my father bought new, but the rebate is for 95 or newer. When I called Ford about it they told me sorry, too bad - thanks for buying another Ford.

So can Ford actually tell if I put a tuner on it, and set it back to stock when or if I need service? 50+hp/100tq with a tune Big Grin and I am a SCT dealer Smile

Not that Ive seen if its returned back to stock before it gets to the dealer. There was a chevrolet customer that got popped recently after we had to take a screen shot of all the comp files. I havent had to do that for a ford yet.

i'm pretty sure they can tell.

supposedly they could tell when people did it on their mustangs.

it's very easy for ford to create some sort of log subprogram that will record the hashtags from the tunes, and can retrieve the log later to verify the customer hasn't messed with the ecu.

The thing is though unless prompted by the dealer ford has never asked me to send anything. There is a handshake process that ford has where the webpage can see the vin and codes to look up tsbs. You can download the 'as built data' as well to load into a pcm. Im sure it happens but weve had 6.0l diesels that were warranty and had programmers. Nothing was ever said including the catastrophic cases or if a field service engineer came.

one of our 06 6.0 powerstrokes at work with 31,000 miles just went out of warranty in November needs injectors.

so far, since new, two rear mains and two turbos and now two injectors and it also needs a new fuel tank. the guy babies it. the other 06 the guy is floored/ not floored and no problems, lol.

ill keep my 7.3 2000 i drive for work, lol.
