Any Ecoboost F150's owners here- looking at a 2013 this weekend
#21

I drive medium, true 50/50 daily, it's getting 18 mixed. It gets about 12 with 8000 lbs behind it on the highway with 4 people. With almost a 40 gallon tank it'll go 600+ miles on a fillup.

I'm picking one of these trucks up once the used price gets down to where I like it for a secondary vehicle. Until then, the old Ranger will have to do.

I'm a little late to this one but since I spend a fair amount of time working with these trucks I figured my experience might be worth something. The ecoboost is a great motor, power is very comparable to the new 6.2 but with around an average of 3 miles a gallon more. The new 5.0 is very close but doesn't quite match them. The biggest down fall that I've seen with the ecoboost is when pushed HARD in high temps it'll pull boost and the power starts to disappear. I read somewhere that ford issued a memo saying that basically any mode to the turbos or boost control voids the warrenty. Ford does sell a create v6 ecoboost now so its only a matter of time until someone really pushes one.

i have about 250 miles on it and i am getting about 12-14 mixed. no highway driving more than 5 miles yet. i do have 3.73 gears in it.

the truck is just about 2" too high to get in and out of with your hands full easy. I want to get some running boards and then a cat back exhaust- I don't know if Ill make it or just buy one. I don't want it loud.

The platinum's (that's most what we have at work) have nice automatic ruining board's but I'm sure those are real expensive.

Wow, it really is a 7 lug. Thats so weird, why would they do that ? My truck is a 3.73, has the same gvwr, the same bed payload capacity, and the same 11,300 tow capacity..

My truck got 12-13 best till 5000 plus miles, it's really gotten alot better, it's got 8400 on it right now. At 3000 miles I did a motorcraft oil/filter change on it. And at 7500 Miles I went to full synthetic and a motorcraft filter. I wouldnt dare put intake/exhaust on this truck. I've heard alot of them, solo sounds the best. This truck is so quiet, it's amazing. It has plenty of power as is. It feels like a turbo diesel. The variable timing on all 4 cams keeps you in the power band all the time. It's super responsive as soon as you touch the throttle, and has alot of torque off idle.

It never feels like the motor is working hard. Ever. I've had it at max payload with several people on a hot day, 87 octane, a/c on. You hear the turbos hiss a little more, and thats it. You're never really past half throttle.
