B&M T/C Lockup signal type
#1

I am trying to install an Autometer Electric speedometer. I have a B&M T/C lockup already installed. It uses a 2-wire pulse generator mounted on the trans Speedo gear.
I want to use the generator for both the lockup controller and the Speedometer. The Speedometer can use either input but it only outputs a Square wave to an additional use
I need to find out if the generator output is sine wave or square wave...Does anyone know? I was thinking that since the B&M tech is at least 20 years old it is probably sine wave, but I am not sure.

Thanks, Howard

Thanks, Landy.
I called B&M and they made the, "It is proprietary, and we can't tell you", BS!

HOWARD sorry i am  late getting back to you. I checked on the conv. box on the 39 chevy i helping on the build the box only is to change the pulse .so something to maybe think about is the speed generator is ACV i think well most are. first you can hook up speed gen. 2wires to speedo  then your 12vdc to run speedo .   Turn gen in a drill just  to see needle move if it does and it should .then  try adjustable (programmable) switches just to see needle change. if all is good it may/should work .i know you already know   how to test this but sometime we need someone to say  that's how i did it.  two more things hook B&M at the gen.    then run 2wire to speedo  so B&M first then speedo last.  and yes HOWARD it is ok if you put in DIODES on speedo 2wire input. and the last is to save time  is before you do test put on jack stands run car in first gear at a set RPM to see to see what the speed is . then when you are programming the speedo you can set faster in ballpark then fine tune by GPS.
