Bought a Fiesta ST Today!
#1

So I work for a Ford dealership and yesterday I found out that Ford has extended their employee 0% financing offer for 72 months to ST models. We had a 2016 Fiesta ST we hadn't sold yet and it was marked down $3750 off the sticker. I needed a new daily driver and I test drove one over night. It was fully loaded with Recaro seats and all. I've driven lots of Focus ST models from stock to moderately modified but hadn't driven a Fiesta yet. I had an absolute blast driving the Fiesta and decided to purchase it. The Fiesta is way more nimble on the road and more fun than the Focus in the turns. It also has better brakes and stops quicker. Can't get away from these turbo ford's lol. It was just too good a deal to pass up. All in all I like it a lot and 32mpg at 80mph is quite nice for so much fun.

Fiesta ST = 197hp, 1.6L (turbocharged) and 2720lbs curb weight. Sounds like fun.....Congrats, Fever!

Very nice man I have been considering this myself. This is the LAST of the small cars Ford will make in the US unless Trumpenomics works out.

I'm half temped to head to the stealership now!

Thanks guys. Thunderfaux I so support that decision if you can get a good deal. Yes Ray you are correct and it also has 202 pounds of torque early on in the rpm range about 2200rpm. Dyno testing has shown that to be under rated in the torque department especially https://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/trac...ested.html

There has been zero change since 2014 to the powertrain or engine calibration(I'm told) that dyno test in the link above shows 221tq at the wheels! It also peaks it's hp at about 6k rpm so it has a nice power band. At that light weight no wonder it's so much fun.

Just shows what they can do with all the newest technologies in engine management. It has direct injection and variable valve timing. no p/s pump to run either due to electronic assist.

Not a big fan of electronic throttle pedals and servo controlled throttle bodies. Electric water pumps sure.

Nor am I - BUT, unfortunately, it's the "new reality". There aren't many (if any) newer cars that can be had w/o 'em. Sad

That's how we get traction control and other stuff. With complete freedom of engine placement without worrying about those pesky sticky throttle cables.

I'm currently on my third car with throttle-by-wire, second with electric power steering, and first using brake-by-wire. All necessary to get to autonomous, self-driving vehicles.

Great stuff. And whether you like it or not, THAT is the direction the automotive world is going. With a bunch of batteries.
