What am i missing here? Are you saying the pilot is still in your crank? That should be a neat trick, how did you do it?

Dare I say that I will have the c4 out today and the T5 in tomorrow? Maybe I shouldn't set any goals being that I still haven't finished 2014s yet.

Well, I thrashed on the thing all day and got the c4 out and the T5 back in. Nice to drive the car again (and not be towed back home). I was able to get all 4 converter bolts out after mangling the seperator plate and bolting 2 box end wrenches together to reach the top bolt. I haven't messed with the c4 to see what happened, but think it will be quite a while before I tear into it. Thanks everyone for all the help. Wish this would have turned out for the better, but things happen. As my military bud would say..."adapt and overcome".

It's binding up when I tried to tighten the bellhousing bolts and the motor wouldn't even move when trying to turn the crank. The convertor was seated all the way. I suspect it's the convertor-crank mating surface that's the problem, but take a look at these pics and tell me what you think. In the pics, the convertor is pushed into the crank as far as it will go.

ever find a solution for this how did you get PTC to make you a converter with .825 pilot size they told me they won’t make one less than 1.375 pilot

Here's a closer look at the pilot.
that's not the right converter setup.

the shoulder on the converter pilot should be roughly (on the shorter side) flush with the flex-plate mating faces, as it does not protrude through the flex-plate’s center hole, which only centers the plate on the pilot receiver lip on the crankshaft.

since the flex-plate actually does flex, there should be lots of lash clearance between the converter and  the crank.
are you sure the pilot only goes flush with the flexplates how does the converter center itself without the pilot slipping into the crank ?

2.3fox89] I ended up going with a Coan converter bought from a member here that ran it in his car, so I knew it'd work. That whole PTC disaster went down as one of my WORST dealings ever.
