Can a TFI drop out only one cylinder?

There's probably some truth to that, but not enough for me to fret over for this engine.

I had one of these let go 20+years ago and dropped in used replacements without issue for years after that. The engine actually eventually died from a ring land coming apart, and not an AUX/dizzy failure.

We'll see how it goes!

Well, finally got every thing together and we're firing on 4 cylinders now.

I found a little "wobble" in the current old dist, so I grabbed my stash of stuff and found an old, unused refurb dist and a good gear from a Ranger dummy dist. I swapped all of the current electronics to the fresh housing and pressed on the gear.

I picked up a good used AUX shaft and also replaced the timing belt and tensioner when I had it all apart.

Now if it would stop raining, I can get back to driving it again.
