#1

.
Any of the following 5 part numbers will get you an iteration of the elusive/NLA/unobtanium 2.3 Lima "crankcase-vent canister" (baffle, air/water separator, etc.), similar to the one depicted below.

OMC = 986315, 0986315
Ford = D4FZ-6A630-A,  D9FZ-6A785-A,  F57Z-6A630-A

Are these interchangable with Ford part number F0ZZ-6A785A?

I have no idea, PRL ~ BUT, perhaps........since there were several iterations/sizes/configurations of vent baffles/canisters/separators made for "our" Lima engines. As mentioned in my reply to your other thread, I suggest Googling or eBay-searching any/all of the above part numbers - including "yours". GOOD LUCK!  <thumbup>

Same as the stock one from a 1990 NA block.

As far as I know these oil separator's appeared in later '70s  2.3 cars. Have the exact same assembly pulled from my '90 2.3 NA block that is exact to the posted photo. No stamping. I scrubbed it gently to see if I could see part #'s for reference and found nothing. Sounds reasonable to bypass the stock /catch.

Stewed here... running well. Then the starter died . Will look to add a heat shield (?) Not going to hijack the thread.
