I think It may be wise for me to get the "D" port head instead of farting arround with porting on the Iron one. $1500 bolt on is the same price that I paid for my FRPP "Y" heads for my 351w. Not cheap but It looks like it is worth it.Now what cam to run???????

I wish I could tell you it's a "bolt-on", but that hasn't been my experience. You get all the parts, but they don't all work together out of the box without some additional machining and massaging. I was extremely disappointed with what Essy ships in the box.
For example when I ordered my d-port from them I specified I was using a cam with 0.550" lift and the one they shipped bottomed into the stem seals at 0.450".

I thought the street "D" port head was a bolt on?

It is. I'm not sure what happened to Nigel's head. I purchased a .489 lift cam (the 2277) from Esslinger and had not issues with interference from the stem seals.
I'm wondering why when people have issues with a companies product why they never seem to state that they called the company...
There are some known "issues" with the heads that would keep them from being truely a no fuss bolt on..
1. chambers need to be cleaned up as there are some VERY sharp cnc marks between the valves. I knocked them down with a dremel, but others have done polishing a CC jobs to satify themselves.
2. I personally had issue with some lifters being VERY tight in the head. I opened the bores with a small hone. No issues since.
