Hi guys and gals, I asked chat GPT what the most active forum is for Turbo Coupes and it sent me here.
My name is Andy and I have a problem.
I'm obsessed with 9th gen Thunderbirds.
My dad got a brand new 84 5.0 in 85 when I was 3. He had that car until he gave it to me when I was 12 and he got a blue 86. I yard drove it until I sold it when we moved.
Our entire lives there was nothing cooler than a 9th gen bird. He passed in 11 and that only made it stick more.
I've had a few, the last one was an 86 TC with a BUNCH of work done (I won't do the mods list thing, I promise) that I got with the small inheritance .
Lost that car in 2014, when I lost storage while I was trying to find a front clip (deer) and do a heater core. I had no place to put it. Sold it.. worst choice ever... . Since then I've been unable to acquire another.
I found a running and driving 87 TC stick, black/black that I could afford. It needs a lot, a LOT, of work, but I'm hauling it back the 6 hours from Delaware tomorrow as long as my truck doesn't let me down.
I'm going to have lots of questions I'm sure. Parts seem hard to find and God knows what I'll need to try and track down.
This project will be getting it on the road and inspectable first then the rest as budget allows.
