How-To Article on 3G Alternator Upgrade...
#11

.
HERE is a comprehensive write-up by TurboFord founder, Chris Roth, about upgrading his SVO with the installation of a small-case 6G Ford alternator that was harvested from a 2001 Mustang V6 (scroll down). It appears to be significantly smaller than yer typical "large-case" 3G alternator, yet it produces 110 amps ~ which should be sufficient for all but the most "electrically hungry" applications. Stupid question time, the wiring for these, 3G, 4G, 6G, all identical right? I may have to do some wiring work when I put my 3G in. Just trying to get ducks in a row before I start the project.

I figure I might as well chime in...I just upgraded my alternator from what looks to be the factory one that's probably 80 amp to a 130 amp alternator from a local shop here in toronto same housing ans 3 pin connector but a little bulkier so the top bolt to hold the alternator in won't line up unless you do some grinding, just tighten the bottom one and good to go

Looks like the same as a 94-94 gt alternator
