I got stupid...
#1

In 31 yrs of working on my own stuff I've never once done this...

Lifted XR up to pull cat, so that I don't foul it as I continue(?) to work thru rich running condition. I did not pull the drip pan that was under the car out first. The jack got caught on it without me realizing until I had the front wheels about 8-10in off the ground. Then she fell off the jack and I swear I saw the front end bounce.

Went to start the XR today to move it to driveway so I could work on another car and it will not crank. Starter engages, but it stops hard. As if the engine is seized. Shouldn't be it ran when I pulled into garage 5 months ago, and has started since then, just not today. I can not rotate the engine by hand.

What could I have possibly broken. And why do the gods hate me so Cry

<eek>

• Things I would check:
  1. Pan dented onto crank counterweight.
  2. Bottom of the bellhousing bent upward onto flex plate teeth.
  3. Fuel (from leaking inj?) hydraulicking one cyl [unlikely].

GOOD LUCK!

You called it Ray, oil pan has big dent just forward of the cross member. Looks like I get to do another oil pan gasket, just did it 2 yrs ago, and then go from there after I pound out the dents in the oil pan.

Problem is I really wanna do a leak down test before I do oil pan gasket as if I need rings that'll mean another oil pan gasket as my engine is early enough it requires the 4 piece cork gasket...

Everything I'm reading seems to indicate that leak down test is best down on hot engine.
