IHI Lower Coolant Line
#1

I destroyed my lower coolant line off the IHI turbo yesterday while taking it off.  I am looking for a replacement now and if I can't find one will make one to fit.

One of my questions:  Is it normal to have a hose on the end to connect to the block (same for the one up top)?  If this is the norm is it a special type of material?  Seemed different hose wrapped in a fabric.

Thanks,
Mike

What's up Mikey, yes that's how mine looked. I used a NPT to compression on the turbo, with a coated brake line bent to the return, some rubber hose (1/4 maybe), and a brass nipple x NPT in the block.

I used silicone reinforced heater hose on my T3 coolant return.  Bought it at NAPA auto parts.  It's stronger and more protection being so close to a heat source (turbo).  Here's some in 1/4" diameter...…

You can see my NAPA hose in blue right next to and below the turbo.....
