Any advice for Turbo folks using the JAW...? Have people had good luck simulating NBs?

Cool, thanks for joining us Smile
I will eventually have some questions, and already have some ideas for improvements. I will join your forum for the technical stuff though.
I have a bit of experience designing very small footprint surface mount boards:

Hi Alan,

I have a question; what are the chances of designing and building a smaller display? Is you platform open to other display choices?

Thanks,
Chris

Chris- You thinking along the lines of something that could be built into a custom instrument cluster, or (if small enough) even a stock one perhaps?

the innovate reads much lower...
Not accurately it doesn't, the LSU sensor is not accurate at AFRs that rich so it doesn't matter if the unit claims to read that low. I for one am not impressed with the LC-1 and have had it replaced twice while others have had no problems. It's also highly temperamental and sensitive to the tiniest voltage problems. [/b]
The Bosch datasheet only shows data until ~10 AFR.

I have not heard anyone having problems with the simulating NB output.

You can use other displays with JAW, by programming one of the 2 analog outputs you should be able to get JAw working with most analog display gauges. I know of a guy who used JAw with his analog Tech edge display unit, and another guy was able to get it working with a VEI display gauge. The display that I sell with JAW uses a digital communication channel so your AFRs update much quicker and it displays AFR much more accurately, also it does not use up any of the analog outputs.

I'm going to look into this just as soon as my LC-1 breaks (and I expect it to!).

I'm hoping I can use the Innovate DB gauge, since I already paid through the nose for it. I guess I have some homework to do.

I am thinking digital display, a smaller one that will fit in the cluster where an automatic gear selector is located on my Ranger. I currently have a Dawes Devices 4 LED NB - O2 gauge there. It would be nice to simulate NB and run the Bosch WB sensor.

I will need to look around for a digital display small enough to work in the area on my cluster.

I was thinking about the Innovate DB gauge too. I just have no idea what it uses for an input from the LC-1. Does anyone know what signal is used between the LC-1 and this gauge?

I did some reading on the innovate gauges, the DB gauge reads the analog voltage on the output of the lC1, so it should work with JAW but you will have edit the analog output on JAW to emulate the output of the LC1.

Can't be too many signal options since the LC-1 only outputs a few.
But the instructions on the website seem to hint at it being an analog signal.
