Obviously, you're inquiring about a tall-deck Esslinger or FMS (Ford Motor Sports) "SVO" block, Steve. B/c - AFAIK - there's never been a
production ."thick-wall" Lima block. <shrug> Below, are cutaway pics that were posted on TF a
LONG .time ago by
Rick Byrnes ("Speedie"), showing the difference in wall thickness between a tall-deck FMS block (top) and a
production .Ford block (bottom):
FWIW ~ While talking with "Papa" Jon Huber (RIP) at the TF race in Tulsa several years ago, he mentioned how much better the Essy tall & medium-deck blocks were, compared to the original FMS versions...... saying that he had a "pile" (guessing 2 or 3?) of damaged FMS blocks on the ground out next to his shop, as opposed to having zero probs with the Essy versions! <shrug>
BTW ~
LINK (<--- clickety click). You can probably add another $300-400 S&H if you can't pick it up in Florida, lol. <eek>
