muffler?

what is the best muffler to run . i just got my 3 inch down pipe made, and i had 3 inch exaust done , they did not do a bad job, but they dont understand what please dont crush the pipe means. i wanted gental bends he made a short radiuos 45 and decreased the internal pipe diameter a little . ill cut the bends out later and replace them with mandrel bends. i could not drive it with just the down pipe. was too loud for my neighbors. i just had them put on a 3 inch glass pack for now. i like the way it sounds.im ordering some 3 inch mandrel tubing to go over the axle. has any one tryed under the axle? i had 2.5 duals from the trans cross meber and it was quiet in the car , thats what i wana get back to .

Hey i was just in tulsa last weekend for the farm show!

ive never seen it run under the axle. im assuming this is on a fox? though it has crossed my mind on lowered cars though.

not really a best design but you want a straight threw flow muffler. i run a dynomax race bullet but it is kinda loud. i ran it with no muffler and then put that on and noticed really no difference in how quiet it got.

if it is a mustang or t bird can't go under axle. because to keep it close for ground clearance then when you'd have to lift axle would come down on the exhaust.

A turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.

I like the Borla XR1 sound. Smooth and deep

I'm currently running the single 3" Magnaflow stuff from stinger. I certainly like it in all driving condition but then again I prefer quiet over anything.

Before that I also had a Borla XR1 and just for sound it has by far been my favorite. The problem is that it was a straight through with centered IN/OUTs so it was hard to get in the factory location and not hang down too far.

3 inch either Dyno Max UltraFlow or MagnaFlow. I've had both on 2 similar cars. I could hear the turbo more with the Dynomax. Other than that both are pretty quiet and flow really good. I like the SS design of the MagnaFlow a little better. It'll last longer for sure.

3" from turbo to 3" Dynamax Ultraflow muffler. 2 1/2" over the rearend. Not very load. But mine is a daily driver. Not lately because because of snow and ice. I know noisy motor. But that was my first motor. Maurice

Just order one of Stingers kits.
Totally worth the money. You will spend way more in time headaches AND money developing your own.

Do a Search on mufflers. You will find pages of opinion on this subject.

I run a 3" system turbo to tip with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler. I like it unless I am trying to talk on my phone at 70mph. Half of the noise is wind on the convertable top and half is the drone from the Flowmaster. Might not be bad on a hatch or notch. :dunno:
