Its been 4 days and my whole car inside and out still smells! I dont have a leak so I'm wondering how long this is going to last, anyone know?

Why did you put it in yer automatic? - it's not designed for that! It's made to modify the fritional properies of gear oil for use in limited-slip diffs. On occasions, I've used it in stick-shift trannies to alleviate hard shifting in cold weather - but I've never heard of anyone using it in an automatic. [Image: smile.gif]

From what I understand it helps alieviate some of the heat and sress on the clutches and bands when they make"soft shifting", thus, firmer shifting and less wear.
It does shift better, but smells like s**t!!

I thought Ford went away from the Whale Sperm friction Modifier. They have a new modifier that does not stink nearly as bad. I think it is synthetic. I have head of guys running the friction modifier in SHO and Conturd 5 speed trannies...

Yep, it is made to reduce the clutch chatter in trac-loc rearends. It does this buy reducing the the amount a friction so they slip more.
Might want to get it flushed out.

Some old transmision guy told me about using that stuff in auto trans befor. He said if your trans is slipping because of bad seals this stuff will help make the seals soft again and help clean the gunk out of the valve body, He said not to leave it in more than 20 or so miles because it will mess up the discs/bands in the trans.
Dont know if this is true or not, since I have never tried it. Autos are easy enough to rebuild anyways.

nope.. the stuff promotes slipping.. if you dont put it in a limited slip.. you will have no slip

if you put it in an auto.. you will start to slip under high power aplication( WOT in 2nd or 3rd) and eventualy in all gears

better get it out.. i know first hand.. dead tranys suck
