Piston installation
#1

About how long would it take to install new pistons and rings in an 88tc with the engine out of the car? What kind of pistons do you guys prefer? Gapless rings? Thanks

If you have a ring compressor and know how to install pistons correctly about 15 minutes. I asked the same question about pistons and the general answer is to use the stock Ford ones. Not sure about the rings though.

Well, to start, aren't 2.3 turbo pistons pressed on??? That means that you'd have to take it to a machine shop and have the new pistons pressed on to your rods.

Should take 1 to 2 hours to get the pistons out of the motor and about 2 to 3 hours to install rings, lube and install the new pistons into your block.

Hope this confuses you. j/k
