Raspberry Pi
#1

Just curious who here is running one, can you share your experience and any mounting solution/options you went with? Thinking of getting one but kinda on the fence since I don't want to be in no man's land if I run into problems.

Thanks

I've been off the board for a while, so I'll ask.... what are you using the Raspberry Pi for?

Probably runs Linux and TunerStudio. Very cool idea and way cheap! The RAM should be enough, but not sure the processor is up for the task, either way I am interested!

The best guy I know to contact is Jeff Esteban for raspberry pi. You can find him on FB, great (remote) tuner too.

Perhaps Bob Myers will see this. I understand he has a raspberry pi in his Capri.

For anyone interested in an alternative to buying a laptop, this little baby is a 64-bit machine with 2gb of RAM. You can install Windows 10 (sorry) and TunerStudio , if you are more comfortable in a Windows environment. I personally cannot stand working with Linux.

I am running a raspberry PI in my XR that I assembled, if you are not the DIY person Jeff Esteban sells complete kit. Those Automic seem like nice boards also

That's a nice option and I especially like that it's Windows based...

Theyre not bad for the price. Its a sbc developed by a robotics company who went out of business and this company bought them all up. Not sure of this is the original batch or if they have since made more.

There is pretty little support out there for them. It comes with 14 or 16 gb of on board storage which is hardly enough for windows 10. I havent tried installing windows 7 yet.

Somethings to note, you need a good powersupply, an externally powered usb hub, wireless (ideally) keyboard and mouse, and a screen before youre going to tune anything with it.

A regular old rasp pi does a better job of packaging everything forsure.

I currently tune with an Acer aspire (1gb of ram) and 1.6ghz atom processor. Its painful to get started but once its running works great for tuning and datalog. I paid $25 on ebay years ago. It came from a Catholic school lol.

Here is the tutorial on installing TS on a pi

Not sure what people are using for the screen. 7 to 10 in touch screen might be doable for cheap.

Wow pis' use to be cheap, the kung flu must have drove them up. Still for around $100 should get you going, screen included. I have one sitting collecting dust, maybe ill have to give it a shot.
