Stinger vs. XS Power
#1

Is there any difference between the stinger center-mount header and the xs power header (http://xs-power.com/ford-turbo-manifolds-1.htm)? The designs look very similar, although it looks like the WG flange is different, but thats about it...
Has anyone had experience with the XS power header?

this has been discussed many, many times.

The Stinger header comes with a warranty, and actually supports TurboFord - not only the site, but also the development of more & better parts.
Taking a break from cars, gonna work on the family instead.

I'd be shocked if they actually still have any in stock. If they do, the head flange will have an incorrect bolt pattern that won't let you put all the bolts in because the holes don't line up.

Why would you buy some Chinese piece of **** just to save a few bucks, and in the process screw over a vendor who is trying to make an honest living selling you quality parts? Are you really that much of a cheap ass?

I bought one for the Rx-7 because I would cut it up anyway. The head flange bolted on. They have them in stock, and they ship fast. The inside of the collector looked like bird poo through a flux core, and I decided to just build a header as originally planned.

Not everyone has been around to know the story. It was an honest question. I had the same one awhile ago and since the ssautochrome XS autosports, whatever company goes by so many names it's hard to search here for it. Also, a lot of those old links don't exist.

It was an honest question about two products that look identical. Every time someones asks about this a good answer is never given as to what happened. I still don't know the full story and I tried to figure it out. No one wants to talk about it it seems. Instead they just bitch at the guy who asks the question.

well thanks shiftless for being a complete ass...no where on the site does it say the parts are made in china...i had never heard of XS power and i was wondering if the part is actually any good or not...but thanks...

an honest thank you goes out to fastmonkeywheels for understanding where i'm coming from

so the consensus is that the part is bad quality compared to the stinger header? has anyone actually tried to use an xs power one? does the head flange align properly or no?

i looked on the stinger site and they said they were out of stock...how much $ do they usually retail for? i'm on a college budget which is why i was considering the xs power one...it seemed pretty inexpensive

CALL ME CHEAP ASS. I am one of the biggest stinger fans on here, he answeres every question, and is always willing to help, but I bought one of those xs headers, and put the other 100 toward my holset. My project has been sitting in the driveway for a year due to lack of funds. Calling this guy a cheap ass is like criticizing a man for divorcing his wife when you have never been married to her. If you are not in his shoes you don't know what your talking about. I added a spacer to the top of mine to help with clearance with my hx35. Learning megasquirt is holding up project as well. It is a whole lot easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!
Bought a mgb convert I can't wait to turbo 2.3. Need Megasquirt help in south central kansas.

Sadly that sums up a very typical TF mentality.
