Trying to wire up this 2G ford alternator..missing single stator connector though.
#1

So I have a mystery ford alternator (not a 3G) with a post and a 3 pin connector. My stock one is gone and just happened to locate this alternator in our pile of random ford stuff. Its unknown what vehicle it came from (possible a 2g thunderbird) but it mounts up fine. However there's no single wire plug connector on it (stator) unless I’m really blind. It’s an older 75 amp from what I’ve been told.

My 89 notchback that it’s in has 2 plugs for the alt. One 3 wire pigtail fits into the alt fine and another 2 wire that has nowhere to go thaf I’m assuming goes to the battery.

So my question is can I simply run a fused power cable from this post on my alt to the battery directly? Or would I need to do something else? I know on 3GS you need to jump the white stator wire but pretty sure I don’t have that option. Im guessing one of those two wires from the "extra" plug go to the battery + side. Not sure what the other wire does.

only way to know if 2 wire plug goes to battery is to trace wire, you could check for power at plug as well . it appears in first photo that the belt is touching itself on rib side. try a shorter belt, if it is touching it self or even close to it will not last long

Believe it not I got to the point where the belt doesn't rub at all but its damn close. Its only temporary thought at some point ill buy a bracket from Chip to move the alternator.

I traced those 2 bigger wires back to the solenoid post feeding the battery. Turns out that post on my Alternator is meant to feed the battery after all and its just simply a different style connection that what ive seen before. Ended up putting ring terminals on the two wires and bolted them to the Alt and im getting 14.3 volts to the battery now while running.
