If you're not using the 2.3 mounts from an early Fox Mustang, or an SVO (The ones mounted on the angled square isolators), you'll also need the adapter brackets that were used on the EFI 2.3 Mustangs that bolted to the K-member. If your mounts have long bolts that run front/back, instead of a stud sticking out of the bottom face of the isolator, like the 5.0 mounts do, then you need the adapters. The PS adapter may need to be modified, as they have a bend in the base to match the stock K-member, which a lot of the AM Kmembers don't have.

86-88 TC mounts won't work. 85 TC mounts *can* work, but they are an oddball and require their adapter bracket, which is different from the others. 83-84 TC mounts are the same as the 2.3 EFI Mustang mounts.

Chuck just double checking. Do these look correct?

Those are totally different than anything I've ever seen before. (They from a convertible?)

They look like 2.3 on the engine (metal) side and 5.0 on the other, though, so they should work.

I don't think they are from a vert but i'm not 100% as far as I knew they were from a n/a 2.3 fox possibly 93. Hey if they work though and don't put the motor in a weird position ill take em.

The wealth of knowledge on this board is outright impressive

Dunno about that. Wink

I just built motor mounts for these things for 15 years. I just never had a set of convertible ones in my hands.

Thank you @supercab78 for the quick shipping of the 2.3 motor mounts!!! One more piece of the puzzle for the 2.3-T mustang combo.

So the biggest hangup for the motor swap now is figuring out if its sitting correctly in the k member. Or maybe do I have the K member brackets to eng mounts backwards or rather upside down...

Chuck did you ever make mounts special for tubular K Members? I just saw these had a bump on the pass side that I ground down and the driver side had a small tab that I ground down. The K member also has 2 different slots im guessing for different placement of the engine?

Side question anyone have any photos of stock mounts bolted up to 5.0 rubber on pass and driver side?

Ian, the tube k-member uses stock motor mounts afaik. I think you just need to find the right combo. I believe I have the mounts and brackets from the '92 2.3 'vert we stripped. Let me see if I can put my hands on them and take some pics for you.

I think the vert mounts were slightly beefier and also placed the motor slightly lower. If the bolt placement is the same would it make that much of a difference???

I can’t find any info on the qa1 K mounts to motor mounts either but I know they are good for a 5.0 per their website. Nothing about the 2.3.
