Alright, this is a slightly long story... Last year the first turbocoupe I had (1988 5 speed with all options) and I kinda got into a wreck. Last spring we found a 1987 tc auto with no options and took the motor and tranny out of the first and put them into the second. So I now have a 1987 w/1988 engine and 5 speed. We finally got it running in September, but... many weird electrical probs. Such as "low beams out" and "rear lamp out" when in gear, a buzzing sound from the dash unless the wipers were turned on, and several others I cant think of the top of my head. It ran fine otherwise till about late October when the check engine light would come on for a few seconds to 30 seconds every few minutes (though with no kind of pattern to it). We have a code reader and it always gave us the code for normal (11 I think?). Then about a 3 and half weeks ago it just wouldnt start. Turns out there was a leak in the fuel lines. Im at college, but my dad had time so he fixed that. But it still wont start at all. Correction, it will start, but only for 3 seconds or so (IF we're lucky), then it just dies. We were thinking it might be the computer or something. we have the computer from the 87 auto, would that work without any more problems? I kind of doubt that would fix all of these problems, but it would at least tell us if the computer that is in it isnt the culprit. Well to sum up, my dad is working on the car right now, Ill be home in a week to see it again in person. Im not sure what he is doing with it, but are there any suggestions as to what could be happening? I find it very strange that the car ran fine for a month or so with no problems, and now it wont even start.

In order .
1 the bulb out .check for a dirty connection
2 failure to run except for a few minutes .I had the same problen ,had aleaky fuel preasure regulator .and then it wouldn't run at all .so this brings us to the next step .
on the passenger side strut tower is a box with a shit load of wires going to it .about 6" by 4" by 3 inches or so .
remove it and replace it with the one from your wreck or another known good one .
I've had this same problen .
you may need to check the headlight switch on the colomn for the light warning it the rest checks good . don't know what else I missed ...Ashley

the buzzing is from the wippers failing to park them self properly .Nato has an article on it .
can't tell you about the check engie lights .,
